Chicago Bears UNDER 8.5 Wins +110
After the addition of first-overall pick Caleb Williams, Rome Odunze and Keenan Allen this off-season, the Bears are everybody's favorite breakout pick heading into 2024. Through three weeks, those projections have yet to come to fruition.
While Williams has the potential to become a generational quarterback, 2024 just ain't the Bears' year. The Bears offense has struggled mightily through the first three weeks of the 2024 NFL season. Although they've improved tremendously at tackle, an interior offensive line of Teven Jenkins, journeymen Coleman Shelton and Nate Davis leaves a lot to be desired. Pressure up the middle is a surefire way to ruin your quarterback's rookie season.
On top of that, Allen has missed 10 games over the last two seasons and has already missed two this year. At this point, he may not be back till mid-season. Additionally, new running back D'Andre Swift comes with his own durability concerns.
Chicago's defense gives them the potential to be great. However, at these odds, sportsbooks are saying they will be this year's version of last season's Houston Texans. Three straight wins have buoyed Bears fans and bettors expectations. Be aware, those victories have come over the injury-ravaged Rams, putrid Panthers, and downtrodden Jaguars. It hasn't exactly been an impressive stretch. A journey to the playoffs is asking a lot of this young squad, and I love the contrarian play on betting Chicago's UNDER 8.5 wins.
Pittsburgh Steelers OVER 9.5 Wins -118
Somehow, somehow Mike Tomlin finds a way to get the job done. His Steelers teams have yet to lose more than eight games while he's roaming the sidelines.
In case you've forgotten, he's been in charge of the Steelers for 16 years and has yet to produce a losing season. Pittsburgh added both Russell Wilson and Justin Fields to stabilize their quarterback room after two dreadful years of Kenny Pickett. Yet, sportsbooks have installed Pittsburgh as plus-money underdogs to continue Tomlin's incredible streak. Fields and the Steelers' defense have led their team in Wilson's stead. All of a sudden things are looking up in Pittsburgh. With three wins already, Tomlin's coaching, and the prudent off-season addition of Fields are already paying dividends.
While they ply their trade in one of the toughest divisions in the NFL, much-improved play in the trenches could be the catalyst of another great Steelers season. Adding the uber-athletic Troy Fautanu and Zach Frazier shores up the offensive line. Second-year leaps from players like Keanu Benton and Joey Porter Jr., along with the addition of Patrick Queen make the Steelers defense a menacing unit.
So, the Steelers have improved at three major positions, while adding a Super Bowl-winning quarterback, and books have them failing to hit their nine-win total of last year. Very winnable games against the Falcons, Broncos and Chargers begin Pittsburgh's season. While matchups with the Raiders, Giants, and Commanders could also be wins. On top of that, the Steelers are 12-6 against AFC North foes over the last three seasons. A win over the Raiders last week confirmed Pittsburgh status as a genuine playoff team, that's why, even as these odds have fallen, I'm still ok with backing the Steelers over 8.5 wins.
At the end of the day, Tomlin is an outstanding leader of men and a fantastic developer of talent. I'm willing to bet on his and Pittsburgh's success this NFL season. This line has dropped all the way from +106 last week to -118 at time of writing.
Tennessee Titans UNDER 4.5 Wins +118
The Tennessee Titans could be in for a rough season in 2024. Sophomore quarterback Will Levis has potential, but expecting him to drag this roster to seven or more wins is unrealistic.
The first six weeks of Tennessee's schedule is a murderer's row. The Titans dropped the ball (literally), by gifting their Week 1 contest to the Bears. Aaron Rodgers and the Jets offered no respite and neither did Malik Willis and the upstart Packers. After their victory over the shorthanded Miami Dolphins, Tennessee was smacked by the Bills and will now take on the star-studded Detroit Lions. They very well could be 2-6 (or worse) by mid-season. Recovering from that is tough for any team, especially one led by a rookie head coach in Brian Callahan.
The Titans sit 28th in offensive EPA per play, and a respectable 12th in defensive EPA. But, starting corners L'Jarius Sneed and Chidobe Awuzie are banged up. They've pretty much admitted defeat by shipping DeAndre Hopkins off to a conference foe. Clearly, Mason Rudolph under center is not the answer. It's going to be a long year in Tennessee.
Even with wins against the inexperienced Patriots and Commanders, and projecting they split wins within their division, it's tough to find five wins on the Titans' remaining schedule. Tennessee's under 4.5 wins odds have dropped all the way to +118. That's as good a reason as any to fade the Titans while there's still time.
What Is An NFL Season Win Totals Bet?
Sometimes called an OVER/UNDER bet, you would need to decide if a team’s total wins would be more or less than the oddsmaker’s set number. These betting lines are generally created before gameplay starts. Sportsbooks look at previous wins, past performances, coaching moves, roster changes, injuries and strength of schedule before settling on a number.

Understanding NFL OVER/UNDER Odds
When you visit any NFL betting site, you’ll see NFL OVER/UNDER listed like so:
Kansas City Chiefs
OVER 11.5 (-118)
UNDER 11.5 (-104)
If you think the Chiefs are going to win 13 or more games, you would take the OVER. Conversely, if you think they’ll win 12 or fewer games, you would bet the UNDER. The numbers in brackets are the actual odds. For instance, if you lay down $100 on the OVER at -150 and Kansas City wins 13 games, you’d get a payout of $166.67 – your original money is returned along with your winnings of $66.7.
If you think they’ll win fewer than 13 games and you lay down $100 on the UNDER at +120, you’d get a payout of $220 – your original money is returned along with your winnings of $120.
