Dallas Cowboys Next Head Coach Favorite: Kellen Moore +250
A homecoming for former Cowboys quarterback and offensive coordinator Kellen Moore makes sense for both sides. After a legendary college career at Boise State, Moore signed with the Detroit Lions after going undrafted in the 2012 NFL Draft. He was later signed by the Cowboys and is well known for serving as Tony Romo's backup before starting his coaching career.
Moore began in Dallas as quarterbacks coach in 2018, before graduating to offensive coordinator under McCarthy in 2019. His offenses were a huge success, as the Cowboys led the league in yards per game twice under Moore, and scored the most points per game (30.4) in 2021. The following season, the Cowboys ranked second in points per game and led the league in redzone efficiency. In four seasons under Moore, Dallas ranked second in points per game and total offense.

The story goes that Moore and McCarthy regularly clashed on offensive ideology, leading Kellen to leave for Los Angeles before landing in Philadelphia after Jones chose to keep McCarthy in 2022. However, Jones reportedly maintains a relationship with the former Cowboys coaching prodigy, and would love to bring him back to Dallas.
Dallas Cowboys Next Head Coach Best Bet: Deion Sanders +300
"Coach Prime" is a top-tier candidate to be the next head coach of the Dallas Cowboys. Sanders representation recently made it known that he has interest in the Las Vegas Raiders coaching job, so wouldn't he head back to the Star?
After all, Jones made Sanders the highest paid defensive player in NFL history way back in 1995, and the duo won Super Bowl 30 together in early 1996. Next season will mark the 30th anniversary since the Cowboys won that Super Bowl, and Jones would love to bring the winning culture of the 90s back to his squad.

Sanders has transformed the culture of the Colorado Buffaloes since taking over as head coach in 2023. The Buffs have gone 13-12 with "Neon Deion" at the helm after winning just one game in 2022. His son, Shedeur Sanders shone as the Buffaloes quarterback and will be a first-round draft pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. Oh, and Travis Hunter won the Heisman after dominating college football on both sides of the ball.
While he's unlikely to be able to coach his son in Dallas, Jones could use the pull of their 30-year relationship to secure Deion's signature. A significant raise wouldn't hurt either. Plus, Deion has a huge network of NFL connections, dating back to his time as a player and broadcaster. He'd be able to procure a number of veteran assistants to aid his transition to NFL head coach. At +300 odds, Deion Sanders is a great bet to be the next Dallas Cowboys head coach. Get ready for "Prime Time" in Dallas.
Dallas Cowboys Next Head Coach Value Bet: Lincoln Riley +900
Could Jones finally procure a young offensive genius to coach his beloved Cowboys?
USC head coach Lincoln Riley is a name to keep an eye on as Dallas searches for their next head coach. Riley has undoubtedly fallen short expectations in Los Angeles. After his high-profile move from Oklahoma, Riley's gone just 26-14 as head coach of the Trojans.
However, Kliff Kingsbury has enjoyed a raucous return to the NFL ranks after serving on Riley's staff last season. The Commanders offensive coordinator has done an outstanding job in guiding Jayden Daniels rookie of the year campaign. In an era where NFL teams are paying top dollar to develop quarterbacks, might Riley be the guy to reignite Dak Prescott?
Remember, Riley coached CeeDee Lamb in Norman as the Oklahoma Sooners head honcho, and his star receiver would welcome a reunion. Moreover, NFL executives have raved about the USC coach's offensive acumen for years. The other huge upside of ditching college for the NFL is there's no recruiting in pro football. Say goodbye to the wear and tear of negotiating NIL deals and keeping your players at USC, and hello to the huge chunk of change Jones would throw at Riley to bring him to Dallas. Pairing Riley with a veteran defensive coordinator would be a home run hire for the Cowboys. Get the deal done, Jerry.
