The New York Jets opened up as a -3.5 point home favorite over the Jacksonville Jaguars in a Week 15 NFL contest. The Over/Under total opened at 40.5. Both numbers have not moved. We do have some history for this matchup but you have to scroll back to the 2022 season. The Jets (-1) hosted the Jaguars and Jax crushed it, posting a 19-3 win. The Over/Under total was listed at 36.5 and went WAY low. Looking ahead, the Jets fly back home to host the L.A. Rams, while the Jaguars come to visit me in Vegas for a matchup against the Raiders.

Apparently, someone still believes in Aaron Rodgers and it's the oddsmakers here in Vegas. WHY? The Jets have lost four in a row and nine of the last 10 SU. The Ayahuasca Kid, Rodgers, has perked up over the last few games, but we're talking about a team that's 3-10 straight up and 4-9 against the spread. Actually Rodgers has not been terrible overall, and some would say, respectable. Looking at his work this season, Aaron has completed 289 of 458 (63.1%) for 2,966 yards with 20 TDs and 8 INTs. And he had his best game this past week against the Dolphins, hitting on 27 of 39 (69.2%) for 339 yards with 1 TD and no INTs. Rodgers does have some serious weapons on the outside, with his old Packer buddy Davante Adams and the kid, Garrett Wilson, gobbling up everything. Adams had 9 catches for 109 yards, while Wilson grabbed 7 for 114 yards. The issue is the lack of a running game and a porous defense. The Jets got just 43 yards on 11 carries from Braelon Allen and 40 yards on 10 carries from Isaiah Davis. That's just not good enough.
Turning to the defense, which was supposed to be New York's strong suit, we can say, YIKES. They have allowed 32, 26, 28 and 31 points the last four games. But luckily, they're playing Jacksonville, and don't have to worry about the Jags putting points on the board. The Jaguars have scored 10, 20, 6 and 7 points in their last four games. Again, YIKES! And if you're wondering why, two words, Mac Jones. If the sad sack Patriots dropped him at the end of last season, you know there were problems. At the heart of Mac's troubles are interceptions. Last year with the Pats, he had 10 TDs but 12 INTs. This season, in six games with the Jaguars, Mac has squeezed out only 2 TDs, but has thrown FIVE picks. He has managed just one win and has a QBR rating of 29.3. To put that in context, a QBR of above 70, like a Josh Allen (76.7) or Joe Burrow (74.1) is at the top of the food chain, while living at 40 or under is ugly. Jones is starting to remind people of the GREAT Gary Angelo Marangi, who played three seasons with the Bills, completed 104 of 283 (35.3%) with 12 TDs and 21 INTs. Twenty one works at the Blackjack tables, but NOT in the NFL!
Everyone that reads these words knows New York is my heart & soul. So, while this not my 'Pick of the Century,' actually I have never and will never have a 'Pick of the Century,' but we do lean Green. And if you shop around carefully, you can find a flat -3 at a few shops.
