CJ Stroud and the Houston Texans clash with Aaron Rodgers and the New York Jets to kick off Week 9 of the NFL season. The Texans head to New York after a 23-20 win over the Indianapolis Colts, while the Jets are coming off a disappointing 25-22 loss to the Patriots.

Texans vs Jets Week 9 Picks
Under 42.5
Houston's menacing pass-rush meets the Jets subpar offensive line in this Halloween matchup. Per Next Gen Stats, the Texans pressured Colts quarterback Anthony Richardson on 64.1% of his dropbacks on Sunday. DeMeco Ryans menacing defense sits fourth in opponent yards per play (4.8) and second in total yards allowed per game (280.3).
On the flip side, the Jets defense ranks second in the NFL in opponent yards per play (4.7), and fourth in yards allowed per game (286.8).
Aaron Rodgers has struggled with mobility as he nurses knee and ankle ailments. That doesn't bode well against a Texans defense that is fourth in pass-rush win rate (51%) and third in team sacks (27) this season.
Sophomore sensation CJ Stroud has also floundered against pressure in 2024. He was pressured on a career-high 57.5% of dropbacks last week, and the Texans offense was derailed by the Packers blitz packages the week before.
I have no faith in either of these inconsistent offensive lines heading into Week 9. I'm willing to bet these quarterbacks will be spooked in the pocket, leading to few points scored as the both defenses dominate the trenches. Take the Texans vs Jets under 42.5 before it falls further.

Texans vs Jets Week 9 Props
CJ Stroud Under 242.5 passing yards (-120)
According to our friends at Outlier, Stroud has failed to exceed his 242.5 passing yardage prop in five straight games on the road.
He threw for just 86 yards against the Packers two weeks ago. Stroud threw for 192 yards versus the Patriots the week before that, and 215 yards against Minnesota. Expect that to continue against the Jets elite passing defense.
