End Of First Quarter Super Bowl Betting Trends
- • In the last 13 Super Bowls, the leader after the first quarter has won eight times. However, in five of those Super Bowls, there was no leader at the end of the first quarter. It was a tie of 0-0 in four years (2014, 2016, 2018, 2024) and 7-7 at Super Bowl 57 in 2023.

- • Teams leading by three points or less at the end of the first quarter are 8-5 SU (61.5%).
- • Teams leading by more than three points at the end of the first quarter are 23-6 SU (79%).
There's a pretty obvious advantage to leading at the end of the first quarter in the Super Bowl, and that's also been true for our two finalists during the 2024-25 regular season. The most interesting note from these first quarter lead metrics from the regular season is the fact that the Eagles were an absurd 7-1 when LOSING after the first 15 minutes. So, don't count them out:
Team | Leading at End of 1st Quarter | Not Leading at End of 1st Quarter |
---|---|---|
Eagles | 4-1 (80.0%) | 7-1 (87.5%) |
Chiefs | 8-0 (100%) | 3-2 (60.0%) |
Halftime Super Bowl Live Betting Trends
- • The team leading at halftime has won 75.9% of the time (41-13 SU).
- • Only two teams leading by more than seven points at halftime have EVER lost a Super Bowl (Falcons vs Patriots and Eagles vs Chiefs).
- • No team has EVER come back to win the game when held scoreless in the first half.
- • Teams leading by three points or less at the half have lost five of 10 times.
- • Teams leading by four points or less at the half have lost seven out of 15 times.
The leading advantage carried into halftime during the regular season for our two 2025 Super Bowl participants, too:
Team | Leading at Halftime | Not Leading at Halftime |
---|---|---|
Eagles | 11-1 (83.3%) | 1-2 (33.3%) |
Chiefs | 11-1 (83.3%) | 3-1 (75%) |

- • The team leading at the end of the third quarter has won 77.8% of the time (42 of 54, where a team was leading at the end of the third).
- • Teams leading by seven points or more at the end of the third are 34-5.
- • Teams leading by three points or less at the end of the third quarter have only won the Super Bowl twice (2-4).
- • Teams leading by more than three points at the end of the third are 41-9.
