Embiid is a former recipient of the award in 2023 and could have very easily found himself being a back-to-back winner had he met the 65-game threshold to be eligible for end-of-season recognition.

He averaged more points per game during both the regular (34.7) and postseason (33) than any other player, but again, didn't meet the criteria to be credited as such. When hovering around 100 percent health, Embiid is arguably the most unstoppable force in all of basketball, mixing an outside game with elite dribbling and post work for a man of his size.

Such a bet comes with risk, though, as Embiid would need to play enough times to put himself in the conversation, and that's easier said than done. For now, at 9-to-1 odds, sprinkling even a little on an MVP win could pay off down the road. The field is deep, and injuries will continue to remain in the back of everyone's mind, but if all checks out, this wager could be a slam dunk.
